MEDITATION, MIND CONTROL, STRESS AND ANXIETY
Meditation is the best tool to control mind and get rid of stress, anxiety and depression. It is said in Bhagavad Gita that a controlled mind is the best friend and an uncontrolled mind is our worst enemy. We need to focus our mind on something so that it remains there. we can force it to remain where we want it to be and does not allow it go anywhere else other than where we want it to be.
It is like taming the mind with a small rope around a picquet so that it cannot go anywhere else other than that particular place. Once you control the mind you will see the immense power of the mind which you can easily use for your own benefit as well as for the benefit of mankind. You will unleash the immense power of mind which can make anything possible. But controlling the mind is like controlling the wind because it does not stay at one place for more than few seconds. To control it what is required is a particular technique with which you can force it to remain at a particular place.
To control the mind we require some techniques and that is where meditational techniques are very very helpful. A simple technique like looking at the tip of the nose with closed eyes and remaining there for as long as possible and at the same time chanting some mantra mentally along with it, is very helpful in controlling the mind. Meditate regularly for 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening and you will see the result coming out very shortly.
Meditate without fail morning and evening for 10 minutes and within 2 to 3 months you will start realising that your mind has started listening to you. The technique which I have just stated has been given in no other than the holy book Bhagwat Geeta. In Bhagavad Gita chapter 6 verse 13 you will find that lord Krishna is telling his beloved student Arjuna that he should focus at the tip of the nose continuously so that he can control his uncontrolled mind.
This technique of meditation with which we control our mind also helps us to get rid of our stress anxiety and depression. We are unable to cope up of the everyday pressure and we get into stress which further puts us into more trouble then what we were already in. When we feel scared about something or some incident or some one else or a particular situation we feel anxiety in our heart. We feel scared about the incident and our heart is always fearful of this anxious situation and it takes us into depression. It is a vicious cycle from which it is difficult to come out.
To come out of stress, anxiety and depression, I suggest that the first step should be to contact the doctors. Specialists like psycho therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists can easily help us out of these situations.
Meditation along with the help of doctors can get us rid out of the situation very soon. The technique which I have just stated to you increases the time period for which we forget those incidents which put us into trouble. As we increase the time continuously with regularity, in a few days duration the situation will go away from us and we will be out of this problem or condition.
It's better to avoid getting into such situations for which it is essential that we regularly meditate. When we meditate regularly we form a habit and discipline our mind. The disciplined mind will automatically stay away from situations which create problems for us, and if by any chance we fall into such conditions we will be trained to stay away from these situations or we will be able to take us out ourselves from such sickening conditions. So students don't waste time get up early in the morning and the moment you get up from your bed go to meditation, similarly in the evening also spend 10 to 15 minutes of time for meditation. This habit will make you a superhuman someday. You will not only realise that meditation whose purpose is to find the ultimate, that is the lord himself has turned you into a god realised master and when you do that you can change the life of thousands of people. The sooner you do it in life the better it will be, as the earliest you reach the pinnacle of your search better it will be.
